Thelma M. Rogers, age 87, of Newark, DE, passed away peacefully at home while surrounded by her family on Sunday, February 21, 2016.

Born in Shamokin, Pennsylvania on December 17, 1928, Thelma was a daughter of the late Raymond John and Alice Mae (Shoop) Edmunds. She was a talented homemaker who enjoyed both cooking and sewing. A loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Thelma devoted her life to caring for her beloved family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas R. Rogers, Sr. Thelma is survived by her daughters, Thelma D. Rusty Morse of Wilmington, Tracy L. McCormac (Michael) of Newark and Tammy M. Zulkowski (Brian Wass) of Dover; son, Thomas R. Rogers, Jr. of Rising Sun, MD; brother, Richard Edmunds of Clinton, ME; sister, Constance Kanaskie of PA; grandchildren, Stacy Ingrassia, Wendy Miles, Kelly Lightcap (Mike), David and Liz McCormac, Michael, Eric and Ruby Zulkowski, Thomas Rogers III and Diane Boulden-Curtis; great grandchildren, Miranda, Nicholas, Jarrett, Jesse, Brett, Shane, Kayla, Mason, Paige and Makayla.

A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Friday morning, February 26, 2016, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 West Park Place, Newark, DE, where a visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 am until 11 am. Interment will follow in Head of Christiana Cemetery, Nottingham Road, Newark, DE.
