Thelma W. Brayman, age 89, of Newark, DE, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 9, 2013.

Born in Mt. Joy, PA on December 30, 1923, Mrs. Brayman was a daughter of the late Frank Young, Sr. and Theda Waters Young. She was employed as the head secretary for the University of Delaware’s Health Services Center, where she worked until her retirement.

Along with her husband, Mrs. Brayman was a charter member of the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Newark. She was an avid reader, whose passion for literature was contagious. Above all else, she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who will be dearly missed.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Albert L. Brayman, who passed away in 2006, brother, Frank Young, Jr., and sister, Betty Tripple. Mrs. Brayman is survived by her sons, Ronald L. Brayman and wife Ginnette of Newark, DE and Alan L. Brayman and wife Joann of Lancaster, PA; 6 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, December 17, 2013, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 West Park Place, Newark, DE, where friends may call from 10 am until 11 am. Interment will follow in Mt. Joy Cemetery, Mt. Joy, PA.
