Thomas J. Boyle, age 89, of Newark, DE, passed away peacefully while surrounded by his family, on Thursday, May 25, 2017.

Born in Philadelphia, PA on October 16, 1927, Thomas was the son of the late Howard and Mary (Bowie) Boyle. He made his career as a sales manager for Stroehmann Pennsylvania Dutch Bakers for many years.

A devout Catholic, Thomas was a longtime member of Holy Family Church in Newark, where he was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Active in his community, he gave of his time as a member of the Brookside Lions Club and also served on the New Castle County Board of Assessments. Thomas was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather who will be very dearly missed.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Margaret L. (McElroy) Boyle, who passed away on April 30, 2017; son, Terry Moyer; 8 siblings; and 3 grandchildren. Thomas is survived by his children, Thomas E. Boyle (Shirley) of Norristown, PA, Tish Boyle of Philadelphia, PA, Timothy P. Boyle of Blue Bell, PA, Carol Costello of Philadelphia, PA, Diane Weinhold (Barry, Sr.) of Boyertown, PA, Scott Moyer (Teresa) of Morgantown, PA and Michele Schlegel (Terry) of Douglasville, PA; 12 grandchildren; and 9 great grandchildren.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 9:30 am until 11:00 am on Wednesday morning, May 31, 2017 at Holy Family R.C. Church, E. Chestnut Hill and Gender Roads, Newark, DE, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, 199 Old Gulph Rd., Conshohocken, PA.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Holy Family Church, 15 Gender Rd., Newark, DE 19713.
