23 Condolences for Thomas Roger Johnson

  • Holding my memories of a truly loving husband in my heart forever.

  • Amy,

It’s scary when one’s greatest fear is experienced by someone else — i.e., having lost their spouse. The possibility of losing Shelley scares me more than death itself. You have my sincere sympathy at this moment of your loss — and hope that you have the resilience to recover, in time.. The pain experienced is usually proportional to the love you shared — and if it hurts more than anything you have ever experienced — the reason is obvious. Unfortunately, everything is a double-edged sword.

    With our affection,

    Sam

  • Uncle Tom was inspiring, hilarious, and loving; he will truly be missed.

We had kept all the “Fw:Fw:Fw:Re:Fw:FUNNY” e-mails (over 130 of them) he had sent and we hear his laugh each time we read them.
May you find comfort in good memories and loved ones during this difficult time.

With love and prayers, Margaret and Pete Tirpak

  • Dear Amy,

  • I’m sorry to hear of your husband’s passing. While I didn’t know him, your stories of him and of you and him were warm and entertaining. May he rest in peace.

  • Tom will be so missed. I’ll always remember his pleasant smile and sense of humor (oh, and his “pet” car in the garage!). My heart aches for you. He was without a doubt a family man. Please accept my sincere condolences.

  • I’ll remember Tom as a strong, happy, generous, and loving man. I wish him the most peaceful rest. It was a privileged to have known him.

  • Amy, I’m so sorry for your loss. Please know that you are my heart.
Thank you for welcoming me as one of your U of D family on the Paris tour with my friend Pat Barber.

  • I am so sorry to hear about Tom’s passing. My heart goes out to you, Amy and all of your family.

  • May God Bless all of you, and give you comfort and strength. How blessed you are to have had him. Be well.

  • My best friend is no longer here to solve all the problems of the world. He was very smart, so I can’t do it by myself. A big loss for me, but a bigger one for Amy and the entire family circle. I’ll keep all of them in my prayers to help them continue on in their lives, as difficult as it is at this time.

  • Tom was one of the most positive – and yet realistic – man I’ve ever known. His love of a good joke and his passion for storytelling filled my childhood with fun and continue to inspire me! He will always be remembered very fondly.

  • Tom was always fun to be around. Indeed he had a wicked sense of humor. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this time.

  • Our prayers are with you and your family.

  • Dear Amy,

I just wanted to write you a quick note to let you know that I’ve been thinking about you and your family since I learned of Tom’s death.

There are no words I can offer that will make this any easier, but hopefully just knowing that people care will allow you to lay some of the burdens on us. Please know that I am always available to you if you need me, day or night.

    Your friend,

    Helen

  • Amy,

I am so sorry for this sad chapter in your life. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this heartbreaking time. Losing any family member is a heart rending experience and a spouse especially so when he obviously was your best friend.

  • I don’t know what I am going to do in the upcoming Presidential elections without the good-natured debating partner named Tom Johnson who has kept me going through the last 2! Tom came into my life maybe 8 years ago. I was warned he might talk my head off, and at times he did, but I have SO MUCH missed it. Politics aside, we had much in common, and it is rare to find a friend like that. I HAVE missed him the past few years, and I most certainly WILL miss him as life goes on. I have to think ANYONE who ever met him was truly blessed. RIP, Mr. Johnson!
