Timothy J. Dooley - Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Homes & Crematory

Timothy J. Dooley

Born October 17, 1997

Timothy J. Dooley, age 19, of New Castle, DE, passed in his sleep on Saturday, December 17, 2016.

Timmy was born in Newark on October 17, 1997, and was the son of Raymond L. Dooley and Barbara S. (Matushefske) Dooley Kraft. He graduated in June of this year from William Penn High School and was a proud alumnus who bled Cherry and Black. He was a talented athlete who excelled at football and as a heavy weight wrestler while at William Penn.

While attending elementary school, Timmy won several awards for his artistic ability and also played the saxophone. In his younger years, he was a standout baseball player in the New Castle Little League. Timmy loved to sing and knew the lyrics to any song from blue grass to rap and loved to dance to every one. His impersonations of Elvis, Elmo and the Cowardly Lion were fantastic and could put a smile on anyone’s face. A diehard Colts and Alabama football fan, he began following both teams at an early age. Timmy loved being outdoors and enjoyed camping at Frontier Town in Ocean City, MD and fishing. He never met a stranger, and knew so many people both young and old, that everyone immediately became a friend. He was a great friend and loved to give a good haircut or a tattoo. He will be remembered for his infectious smile, heart of gold, as the class clown, as the life of every party, and for being a hardworker. Timmy will be desperately missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Marvin and Sue Ann Dooley and John and Lois Matushefske; and his Aunt T, Teri Matushefske. Timmy is survived by his father, Raymond L. Dooley of New Castle; mother, Barbara Dooley Kraft and husband, Michael of Elkton, MD, with whom he resided; grandfather, David Goodman and wife, Debbie of Rockville, MD; siblings include his best friend and other half, twin brother, Todd Dooley of New Castle and Elkton, MD, brother, John Buchanan of New Castle and sister, Missy Buchanan of New Castle; step-sister, Samantha Kraft of Elkton, MD; foster grandmother, Rose Rigdon of Wilmington; aunt, Malinda Dooley of New Castle; uncle, Marvin Dooley and wife, Barbara of Newark; love of his life, Andrea Hudak; 2 nephews, Marc Cathcart, Jr. and Jaydon Buchanan; 1 niece, Karlee Cathcart; a host of cousins; and the Kraft Family of Elkton, MD.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 am until 1pm on Friday, December 23, 2016 at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE 19720, where a funeral service will be held at 1 pm. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to assist the family with funeral expenses may be sent to Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home at the address listed above.

  • I can’t express in words how sorry we are for your loss. Having known Timmy since early grade school, through wrestling, was always pure entertainment. The rivalry/friendship Riley and Timmy shared was the best. Timmy was always beating the crap out of Riley on the wrestling Mat. We used to say to riley “your gonna have to get mad at him if you wanna win”. Riley would say, “but he’s my friend and he’s good”. We literally would try to find ways to make Riley mad at Timmy before he went out on the Mat. It took forever but, I’ll never forget the day Riley pinned Timmy. Timmy got up, hugged riley and who knows what words were exchanged, but the two boys who grew up on the Mat, battling for a pin, had an understanding. They had become the same on the Mat and it was emotional for both. Timmy always showed our family respect and gratitude for having been part of his circle of friends. As bad ass as he was, we got to see the softer side of Timmy. God bless your family in this time of loss.I can’t say enough good about this young man and I know when we meet again he will be there to introduce us to all his new friends in heaven. He will be missed for all the love and laughter he brought to this world and to out home. All our ❤️ the montgomery family
