Veronica (Bixler) Deldeo

Born July 16, 1947

Veronica (Bixler) Deldeo, age 70, of Saint Georges, DE, and formerly of Bear, DE, passed away on Monday, July 17, 2017.

Born in El Paso, TX on July 16, 1947, Veronica was the daughter of the late Richard J. and Agnes (Elwell) Bixler. She was a graduate of H. Fletcher Brown Vocational High School, where she studied cosmetology. Veronica made her career as a wholesale data entry clerk with Citibank in New Castle, retiring after many years of service.

In her leisure time, Veronica enjoyed staying in touch with friends and loved ones on Facebook. A woman of strong Catholic faith, she was a longtime parishioner of Holy Rosary Church. Veronica’s family was her purpose in life and she adored every moment she spent with them “ especially the time she spent with her grandchildren. A beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and great grandmother, she will be very dearly missed.

In addition to her parents, Veronica was preceded in death by her husband, Frank J. Deldeo, Sr.; and brother, Richard Bixler. She is survived by her daughters, Chrichele Deldeo Fahr (Michael) and Danielle DeAngelis; son, Frank J. Deldeo, Jr. (Melissa); sisters, Sherry A. McLauglin, Jackie W. Wirkkala, and Kathleen Smith; brother, David Bixler; grandchildren, Lisa, Anthony, Chris, Eric, Andrea, Arianna, Karissa, Gabi, Alexa, Vanessa, Maegan, and Samantha; great grandchildren, Michaela, Isabella, Sophia, Mya, and Wade; many nieces and nephews, especially her niece, Amber Hinton and nephew, David Deldeo; and faithful canine companion, Cleo.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm on Sunday afternoon, July 23, 2017, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home of Newark,121 West Park Place, Newark, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 2:00 pm. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Veronica’s memory may be made to the American Heart Association, 200 Continental Drive, Ste. 101, Newark, DE 19713.
