Veronica Pacini White

Born April 26, 1947

Veronica Pacini White, age 68, passed away on Monday, November 9, 2015, due to complications from pneumonia.

She was born in Lewistown, PA on April 26, 1947 and was a daughter of the late Cloyd L. and Mary Anne Pacini. One of three children, she is survived by her brother, C. James Pacini, wife Gerrie (and family) of Rockland, sister, Ruth P. Holt (and family) of Wilmington and her two children, Eric S. White, of Wilmington, and Angelique M. Rogers (White), husband Jason and their two children, Justin and Dalton of Douglassville, PA. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Catherine Falkowski (and family) and many nieces and nephews.

She had many names. In her family, everyone had nicknames. They called her Mella because as a child she liked the candy Mallo Cups. Outside of the family, most called her Ronnie, but in business everyone knew her as Veronica.

Her family moved to New Castle, DE in 1954. She would later attend Ursuline Academy and the University of Delaware and over the years, led a varied and successful career in a number of jobs. She worked at Bell Telephone as an operator, and then in the business office. She was an office manager at Delaware Answering Service for over 10 years and was integral to the process when the answering service converted from a manual switchboard to a new computer-based system. She helped to select the new system and trained all the operators on how to use it. She sold insurance for Mutual of Omaha and in her first year received their Power Builder Award. She worked as a temp at Casey Employment Services for a number of years before being hired by Casey to become one of their Temp Managers. In 2001, she and her son started a new company, Utopia Systems, Inc. The technology company is still in business today and had grown to over 10 employees. She was the CFO and Business Manager, still working actively in the company until her passing. However, she would say she is most proud of her children, and the people they have become.

She was very philanthropic. Utopia Systems donated thousands to various charities, focusing on human welfare, children and the environment. Being passionate about food and health, she became an accomplished gourmet cook. She also studied endlessly about food, nutrition, health and the science of the body. She could talk for hours on a subject she was passionate about and never get tired.

She studied metaphysics, eastern mysticism, new age philosophy, as well as astrology. She had a strong faith in the spirit of God and strived to help people better themselves. She would help anyone with problems or struggles they were having in life, relationships or health. She believed that true happiness must come from within. She believed in the potential we all have inside.

She enjoyed playing Bridge for many years, did the crossword most Sundays, liked puzzles and word games, which she later played online.

She spearheaded the charitable giving at Utopia Systems that included Doctors Without Borders, Feeding America, Women’s Way and most recently, Heifers International.
Services will be held privately.

She believed strongly in giving people the tools they need to be successful and independent on their own, so in lieu of flowers, donations in Veronica’s memory can be made to Heifers International, 1 World Ave., Little Rock, AR 72202 or by visiting, http://www.heifer.org.

  • To Veronica’s entire family, especially Ruth,

So sorry to hear that your sister passed away. I know it was last November, but my heart still goes out to you and all family members. May your faith in God help keep you strong as you get through this time of grief as I am sure you still are experiencing.
Keep her memories alive in your hearts and she will always be with you. I will keep you in my prayers.
    May God bless everyone,

  • She was my second mama through middle and grade school! If Angie was getting a lecture than so was I. She was very artsy and savy. She loved playing card games with us and cooking! She loved to think out of the box and find solutions to problems. She loved telling me about crystals, her new jewelry, and told me my first fortune! My heart goes out to the family especially to my best friend in the world, Angelique Rogers White! She will be missed! Hugs!
