Violet E. Davis

Violet E. Davis, age 91, of New Castle, DE, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 27, 2014.

Born in Portland, Maine on May 17, 1923, Mrs. Davis was the daughter of the late Joseph and Elizabeth Bobrowski.  She devoted her life to caring for her beloved family and was an exceptional homemaker.

Mrs. Davis was a longtime parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima Church and a lifetime member of the Minquadale Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary.  Above all else, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who will be deeply missed.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry W.  Davis.  She is survived by her sons, Harry J. Davis (Dolly) of Middletown, Alex J. Davis (Janice) of Middletown and Edward V. Davis (Anna) of Dagsboro; 8 grandchildren, Harry J. Jr., Michael, Beth Anne, Caitlin, Adam, Derrick, Sheena and Karissa; and 2 great granddaughters, Brooke and Bianca.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6 pm until 8 pm Wednesday evening, October 1, 2014 at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle.  Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:30 am on Thursday morning, October 2, 2014, at Our Lady of Fatima R.C. Church, 801 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE 19720.  Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Fatima R.C. Church at the address listed above.

  • RIP Violet you will be missed by your Auxiliary family and friends. Very sad losing one of our Ladies Auxiliary members who she loved so dearly, she was a Life Member of the Minquadale Ladies Auxiliary. Violet always took care of everyone else first and then she would take care of herself. A selfless women who made peoples lives happy. I will miss you Violet. Now she is finally with her beloved Harry back together again. To her family and friends we are so sorry to lose such a wonderful friend.
