Violet Price

Violet Price, age 76, of Wilmington, DE, and formerly of New Castle, DE, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 18, 2017.

Violet was born in Chester County, PA on August 6, 1940. In addition to caring for her family, she worked for many years as a housekeeper at Paper Mill Apartments in Newark and Harbor House Apartments in Claymont. Additionally, Violet tended bar at the former Rocky’s Café in Wilmington. She enjoyed completing jigsaw puzzles and crocheting in her leisure time. Above all else, Violet was happiest in the company of her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her daughters, Deborah A. Hewitt and Shelly R. Tumulty. Violet is survived by her daughter, Paula Phipps; grandchildren, Kimberly Eckman Jones, Ashley Eckman, Alycia and Emily Merritt and Samantha and James Adair; 4 great grandchildren; and step-grandchild, Victoria Scott.
Services will be private.
