  • With My Deepest Sympathy and Prayers.

  • Dear Lauren,

  • May God welcome Virginia into surpassing peace, abiding love and complete joy. She was an educated woman with a sense of fashion, who loved cooking and lived on a farm! Clearly, she embraced life in all of its beautiful depth and variety and was truly a remarkable woman. Please know of my prayer for all who mourn.

  • Virginia was part of my life for 59 of my 63 years, and I will miss her very much. I admired her sense of style, her graciousness, and her strength, and am ever grateful for her kindness to me and my family over these many years. I am sorry not to be able to come to the funeral and express my sympathy to Olli, Laura, John, Neal and their families in person; but I am happy that I was able to visit with Virginia in April. Although she was very weak and probably in pain, she was, as always, generous with her attention, asking after my husband and daughter. And, as always, she was very proud of her grandchildren, and shared pictures of them with me. I will treasure this and many other happy memories of her.

  • I was saddened to learn of Virginia’s passing. My thoughts and prayers are with Olli, and the entire Salminen family.
