  • Please accept my sincere condolences for the loss of your loved one, Virginia. It breaks our hearts when death sparates us from the ones we love so much. The Bible reminds us that God sees our pain and sorrow and has promised that soon, “death will be swallowed up forever.”(Isaiah 25:8) He will heal our broken hearts by resurrecting our precious loved ones to life again.(John 6:40) Until then, I hope the beautiful memories of Virginia and these promises from God comfort you in the days to come.

  • Ginger was a vibrant lovely woman. I will miss her sparkling presence. I am grateful to have known Ginger.
Much love and sympathy to you all.

  • What a beautiful mom you guys had. When I think of “Mrs. Bowe”, I think of the mysterious (working at DOC), friendly (never scolded me LOL), pretty lady who had really nice sons. A great time growing up in Newkirk; she helped to shape all of us kids. Glad you were able to have her with you into adulthood. What a treasure.

  • Nancy, so sorry you have lost your sister. I remember her so well. It was so fun at your house when we were in grade school at COK. Part of the reason was all the teasing going on. I remember big sister Ginger being part of this…and her beautiful hair. We lost touch back around 1959. Please email me. Kathy Pankowski Curry

  • Dear family and friends of Ginger,

She was a lovely and generous lady and such fun to be with. Ginger and I worked together at the Department of Correction when I was in charge of the statewide prison art program. She was a great encourager.

We would meet for breakfast, lunch and dinner over the years and she even offered my entire family hospitality at her home every December, when we would come to see the annual Christmas production of the Three Little Bakers.

My family was so sad to hear the news of her passing.

I loved Ginger’s stories of her fabulous trips and especially the safari one in Africa. She also so enjoyed working at Winterthur.

She loved her family so much. I am greatly indebted to her sister who was living in Chicago at the time, and whose doctor friend set me up with the director of the breast cancer department at Johns Hopkins Hospital complex in Baltimore. I probably owe my life to Ginger, her sister, the Chicago doctor and the wonderful doctor at Johns Hopkins! Thanks be to God!

My husband Richard and I, will be keeping your family in our prayers.

May you all be comforted through memories of her life well spent on this earth.

    Love and hugs,

    Kay Wood Bailey and family

  • It is with profound sadness that I recently learned of Ginger’s passing. Though being Ginger’s neighbor for over 40+ years, it has only been over the last 20+ years that we have had the opportunity to converse at length and get to know one another. Though we spoke of many things: politics, her family, health care, my own family, the neighborhood, etc, Ginger always gravitated toward conversing of her children and grandchildren. Her pride of her children and grandchildren was contagious. I felt through her stories as if I had been there with her through the good times and bad. Her passion for her family was something to behold. I spoke with Ginger a few months ago, having called her to check on her well being as I had not seen her about and we had not had our typical summer conversations. While at the time I felt burdened, we talked for at least a few hours, mostly of her speaking of her family. It was our last conversation. I will miss these conversations, and her company greatly. To her family, her sons, grandchildren, and her loved ones, I extent to you my most heartfelt condolences. Ginger was a most special person, in your lives, and in mine, and she will be most sorely missed, and forever remembered.
