W. Jewell Iorizzo, age 73, of New Castle, DE, passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on Thursday, March 10, 2016.

Born in Brooklyn, WV on February 25, 1943, Jewell was a daughter of the late Willard J. and Mae (Starks) Harvey. In addition to raising her family, she worked as a computer associate with the State of Delaware, retiring after 30 years of dedicated service.

Jewell was a true people person and went out of her way to lend a hand to anyone in need. Over the years, she selflessly gave of her time by caring for family and friends. A devout Christian, Jewell was a woman of strong faith and character. She enjoyed reading and sewing in her leisure time. Happiest in the company of her loved ones, Jewell adored having her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren around her and she will be dearly missed by all.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, John N. Iorizzo. Jewell is survived by her children, Patricia Werline Barlow (Jeff) of Clayton, Wanda Ellis (Dave) of Smyrna, John N. Iorizzo, IV (Cheryld) of New Castle and Juli Codding (Miles) of Hockessin; brothers, Carl Harvey (Rita) of Newark and Hubert Harvey (Joann) of Earlville, MD; sister, Evelyn Walker of Tampa, FL; 12 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 10 am on Saturday morning, March 19, 2016, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a visitation for family and friends will be held from 9:30 am until 10 am. Interment will be private.
