12 Condolences for Walter “Tony” Smith III

  • Sorry to see you go so soon Tony. You will be missed but forever loved.

  • Oh Tony, Im lost for words. You will be missed by many. I know you are rejoicing with your Mom and having a good ol’ time 🙂 Wish I had time to make it to the service but just know I love you and you will always be in my heart! Til we meet again!

  • My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Donna

  • To one of the most creative and loving individuals I have ever met…you will be missed. It is so very surreal to be writing something in honor of the true “Word-Smith”. Tony was my brother’s partner, his best friend, his listening ear but to be honest, I felt that Tony was a listening ear and support system to many of us of us who knew him. I’m sorry the world will no longer have the pleasure of reading Tony’s short stories or view point on the day-to-day. I’m sorry the best beagle in the world is without his master. If there is anything to take away from this time of sadness, it would be to recognize the love that you have and cherish them. Be true to yourself and the life you want to live. Feed your passion. Last but not least, try relishing in the little things in life.

I loved you more than you know and I will miss you.

  • My heart goes out to Walt and Jim at this time of their loss – my thoughts and prayers are with you both. Tony was one of my closest friends. Even though we didn’t get to actually see each other all that often, we always tried to keep in touch via email/text/Facebook/phone whenever we could. We’ve shared long conversations over the years about the goings-on in our respective lives, been each other’s shoulder to cry on, as well as inspiration to keep positive and live a life full of love. We laughed, we cried, we poked fun at each other, cheered each other up when we were down, shared good news whenever we had it, asked and gave advice when it was needed… just typical good friends who looked out for each other. He had a big heart with a great capacity to love. Tony has touched so many people in his short life and I am proud to be one of them. He will be greatly missed – Heaven has gained a wonderful angel!

  • My heart broke into a million pieces when I heard the news. He was a friend from way back and one I cherished. My thoughts and prayers are with you Walter, Jim, and his beloved Molly!

  • This was heartbreaking to hear. Tony was one of my students at Wilmington University prior to him graduating. I never met him in person because our student/teacher relationship was strictly through online courses but we worked closely together as he was very adamant about understanding every facet of the courses I taught. He was very interested, motivated and one of my most promising students. Just by the short time I knew him I could tell he was a great, kind, loving person. Tony, my thoughts go out to your family during this hard time as the world lost a good person and you will surely be missed.

  • Jeremiah 29:11 and Ecclesiastes 3.

Tony, You will be missed. May God grant Jim and Walt peace in their thoughts and hearts during this difficult time. May He grant others peace and hope.

Words cannot even cover the loss and sorrow we each feel. Remembrance of good times and deep conversations about the meaning of life and everything in between will echo forever. Time will march on and memories will fade. But your impact on the lives of those who knew you best will live on long after you. Rest peacefully!

  • I miss you already. Its funny how we went weeks without talking and I never felt an absence. Now because you’re not there I feel that distance more acutely than ever before. No more proofreading, no more fact finding missions, no more bitch sessions over waffles. I miss your light my friend. May the spirits carry you to your ancestors on to whatever comes for you next and may you go forth shinning with the love you have given along your path.

  • Thank you for your prayers, condolences and thoughts, Donna. They are greatly appreciated.

  • Tony, you were such a kind and wonderful person. I will greatly miss our chats at work. Your presence was enough to brighten up any day. My thoughts and prayers are with your family during this difficult time. I hope it helps them to know that you were loved by many and will be missed dearly.

  • Please accept my deepest condolences, and may the “God of all comfort” provide you with peace during this difficult time. – 2 Corinthians 1:3
