Mr. Wilkin Lamont Brown, age 86, of Newark, DE, died on Saturday, May 1, 2010, at Valley Hospital in Las Vegas, NV. A native Delawarean, Mr. Brown was born in Glasgow on May 29, 1923, son of the late Florence (Lemon) and Richard Brown. He proudly served his country in the US Army as a medic during World War II and, in civilian life, made his career with General Motors in Wilmington, where he retired as a foreman after 31 years of service. Mr. Brown was a longtime member of St. James Episcopal Church of Millcreek Hundred in Delpark Manor and was very active in the Masonic order as a member of Hiram Lodge #25, AF & AM, in Newark, where he held the office of Tyler at the time of this passing. Throughout his life, he had a great passion for automobiles. He also enjoyed traveling with his wife, especially on trips to Colonial Williamsburg. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 63 years, Edna Faye Hammond Brown, brother, Richard Brown, and sister, Jennie Brown. He is survived by his niece, Florence Lombardo; great niece, Barbara Preis; and sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Sylvia and William Booth. A visitation will be held from 9:45 am to 10:45 am on Tuesday, May 11, 2010, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 West Park Place, Newark, DE. A Masonic service will be held at 10:45 am, followed by a funeral service at 11 am. Entombment will be in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE.
