William Cecil Light

William Cecil Light, age 86, of Pennsville, NJ and formerly of New Castle, DE, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 23, 2014, at the Southgate Health Center in Carneys Point, NJ.

Mr. Light was born in Barnum, WV on March 18, 1928, and was a son of the late Cyrus H. and May Light. He worked as an assemblyman for General Motors and retired after many years of dedicated service.

A talented musician, Mr. Light enjoyed playing his guitar and sharing his love of music with others. He looked forward to spending time in his garden and working in his yard. A loving husband, brother, uncle and friend, Mr. Light will be remembered for his warm heart and gentle spirit.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Kay Nado Light. Mr. Light is survived by his brother, Arnold E. Light of Pennsville, NJ; nieces, Patricia Gardner and Tara Galloway; great nephews, Patrick and Ian Galloway; great niece, Molly Gardner; and his very caring friend, Ms. Josie Williams.

A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Tuesday morning, July 29, 2014, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where family and friends may visit from 10:30 am until 11 am. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mr. Light’s name may be made to to a favorite charity of the donor’s choice.
