William Cook, Jr.
Mr. William Bill Cook, Jr., age 73, of Rambleton Acres in New Castle, DE, passed away on Sunday, May 15, 2011.
A native Delawarean, Mr. Cook was born in Wilmington on December 29, 1937, son of the late William Cook, Sr. and Marie Bowman Cook. He made his career as a heavy equipment operator with the International Union of Operating Engineers Local #542 in Philadelphia.
As a young man, Mr. Cook proudly served his country in the US Army National Guard. He was a model train enthusiast throughout his life.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Dorothy Flynn Cook; children, Michael Cook of New Castle, Kenneth Cook of Wilmington, and Lisa Lambertson (Ronald) of Temecula, CA; sister, Lynn Jeandell (Rev. Russell) of Camden; and grandsons, Ryan Lambertson and Eric Lambertson.
A funeral service will be held at 1:30 pm on Friday, May 20, 2011, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, where visitation will begin at 12:30 pm. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mr. Cook may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 100 W. 10th St., Ste. 1002, Wilmington, DE 19801.
