William E. Holland, Jr., age 55, of Newark, DE, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 2, 2015.
Mr. Holland was born in Granite City, Illinois on October 27, 1959 and was the son of William Eugene Holland, Sr. and the late Nancy Hamilton Holland. After receiving his degree from the University of Missouri, he made his career as a chemical engineer with the DuPont Company. Mr. Holland was a dedicated employee and was the recipient of a patent during his tenure.
A man of varied interests, he loved playing video and board games, enjoyed model airplanes and was fascinated by gem cutting and polishing. Mr. Holland played recreational soccer and was an avid bicyclist. A devoted and loving son, father, brother and friend, he will be dearly missed by all.
Mr. Holland was preceded in death by his mother, Nancy. He is survived by his father, William, Sr.; 2 sons, Eric Holland of Kettering, MD and Ryan Holland of Estes Park, CO; former wife and close friend, Mary Beth Bergstrom of Newark, DE; brother, Doug Holland of Robertsville, MO; and his faithful companion, Diamond.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday January 31st, 2015 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 701 S. College Avenue, Newark, DE. Interment will be held privately.
