November 9, 1940 - April 13, 2017

William Earl Hartman passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 13, 2017 at Wilmington Hospital. His family was at his bedside.

Bill had been a resident at the Mary Campbell Center since its earliest days of 1978 and enjoyed many accomplishments along the way. His lifelong dream of achieving the rank of Eagle Scout, his leadership role in Memory Makers Program and participation in Special Olympics and Easter Seals, just to name a few.

Bill loved his family and made friends everywhere he went. His smile always shined bright and he had a passion and zest for life everyday.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:00 am until 11:00 am on Tuesday morning, April 25, 2017 at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 214 Clinton Street, Delaware City, DE, where a memorial service will begin at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in the Delaware City Cemetery, Delaware City.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Bill’s memory may be made to Special Olympics of Delaware, 619 S. College Ave., Newark, DE 19716.

  • Billy, I will miss your wonderful smile and big laugh. I will always remember you throwing your head back and saying “Oh Danny ! ” when you were laughing at one of his Jokes. We love you William Earl , but we know you are in good hands until we meet again.
