William H. Walker
Mr. William H. Bill Walker, age 83, of Newark, DE, passed away on Thursday, August 4, 2011, at Christiana Hospital.
A native Delawarean, Bill was born in Bear on April 20, 1928, son of the late James R. Walker and Mary Cooper Walker. He made his career with the former Hercules Corporation, where he worked as a lab technician until his retirement.
Bill was a longtime member of Newark United Methodist Church and taught Sunday School there for many years. He was also a lifelong member of the Odd Fellows Lodge. In his leisure hours, he greatly enjoyed dining out and traveling.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita H. Walker, in 1996, and a sister, Jean Rose Kessell. He is survived by his brother, Robert T. Walker (Julia) of Pomfret, MD; sisters, Helen Sis Williams and Frances A. Walker, both of Newark; and nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 1 pm on Tuesday, August 9, 2011, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 West Park Place, Newark, where visitation will begin at 12 noon. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle.
