William M. “Bill” White
Born September 5, 1948
William M. White, age 68, of Newark, DE, passed away on Sunday, February 19, 2017.
A native Delawarean, Bill was born in Wilmington on September 5, 1948, and was the son of the late Franklin D. and Thelma (Monroe) White. He proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. Bill made his career as a self-employed carpenter for many years.
In his leisure time, he enjoyed oil painting and woodworking. Bill was an avid outdoorsman who spent many happy hours hunting, fishing and camping. He adored animals, especially horses and dogs. A devoted father and talented storyteller, Bill was lovingly protective of his children throughout their lives.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lurene M. (Kowalski) White and his daughter-in-law, Heather White. He is survived by his children, Dawn Taylor and her husband, Kenny, William White II and John White; brother, Franklin; and sisters, Diane and Louise.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 5 pm until 6 pm on Thursday, February 23, 2017 at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 6 pm. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Seasons Hospice of Delaware, 220 Continental Drive, Ste. 101, Newark, DE 19713.
