William R. Conrad

William R. Conrad, age 86, of Newark, DE, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 13, 2017.
Born in Brooklyn, NY on May 7, 1931, Bill was the son of the late William and Katherine (Hochemeir) Conrad. He proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Navy. A self-employed butcher, Bill served the community for 46 years before retiring.
A man of strong faith, he was a longtime and active parishioner of Holy Angels R.C. Church in Newark. Bill gave of his time as a Boy Scout leader, assisting 14 young men in advancing to the rank of Eagle Scout. Additionally, he served as a volunteer with Meals on Wheels of Delaware. In his leisure time, Bill enjoyed spending time with his family. Above all else, he was a loving and devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great grandfather.
He is survived by his loving wife, Carin Patricia Conrad; sons, William G. Conrad of Setauket, NY, Keith A. Conrad (Adrienne) of Pocono, PA, and Eric R. Conrad (Catherine) of Newark; daughter, Carin K. Melchert (Frank) of Valley Stream, NY; sister, Thea Lass (Winifred) of Valley Stream, NY; 14 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11:00 am on Wednesday morning, November 22, 2017, at Holy Angels R.C. Church, 82 Possum Park Road, Newark, DE, where a visitation for family and friends will be held from 9:30 am until 11:00 am. Interment with military honors will follow in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, DE.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Bill’s memory may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675.

Lovely! The old man was real good looking huh when he was a young buckaroo LOL I’m so busy right now cuz we just moved into this apartment a week ago but as soon as I’m finished with everything I’m going to re-watch the video Memorial. I saw some of the pictures of you and your brothers in the old days. If we only knew now what we knew then… Wait, we do know now what we did then LOL you can see it I’m a little brain-dead. My heart reaches out to all the Conrad’s and relatives of Bill Conrad .He was a wonderful man, always smiling and laughing and I’ll remember him fondly for the rest of my days
