  • To Ron’s children, and family,

I am so saddened to hear of Ron and Chris’s passing. I didn’t know Chris very well, but I met Ron almost 12 years ago now while I was working at Wesley’s in Fair Hill and finishing my degree at UD. He was very quickly my favorite customer, and we became friends soon after. When I was still living in the area, we’d meet for dinner, or I’d help with odd tasks at the house. When I moved away, first to New York and then to California, we kept in touch and would regularly meet for dinner if I was back in town. I watched Ron go through a crazy blood infection, loss of fingers, heart trouble and then finally a brain tumor, but I’d never seen someone so hearty and robust. He was one of those you just never thought would succumb. He was always cheerful, generous, and present. I know that I will miss him and I was only a friend. I am terribly sorry for the loss that will be endured by all of his family. I am grateful to have known Ron, and to have called him my friend.

    My deepest and heartfelt condoleneces,
    Marla

  • Joyce and I were shocked to hear of the event at Ronny’s home when he and Chris just came back from a hunting trip Ronny had mentioned to me several months. We met Ronny and his family in June 1970 when we moved to Delaware from Scranton, PA. They were the first people to greet us at the apartment building we lived in for a few short years after which we enjoyed a happy friendship for a very long time. I am grateful to have known Ronny. He was a GOOD and HONEST friend. I will surely miss him.

  • Sorry to hear this. Praying for all of you.

  • I will always remember Chris and Ronny with a smile.

  • Jim and I are in shock about the passing of Ron and Chris. Chris was such a good son to move in with his dad and help with his care when Ron developed brain cancer. We visited Ron in the hospital and all he talked about was being able to go hunting once again. Chris, made that possible for his dad, its just too bad things went the way they did. Ron was in our first wedding in 1963 and after 50 years Jim and I renewed our wedding vows once again and, I was able to get almost all my original wedding party back together for another celebration in 2013, of course, Ron, showed up in shorts and a tee shirt after I had told him the colors for the day were black and white but, all was well and everyone there had a great time. It was suppose to be my honeymoon night once again and Ron was the last one to leave (around 10:00 o’clock) but he had such a great time that day revisiting everyone. Yeah, we have many fond memories of Ron and Chris, Wendy, Dawn, and Carol as we camped together and traveled up and down the east coast for fun adventures. We also attended the many beef and beer feasts, and shrimp feasts at the Christiana Fire House which were our old stomping grounds. I can only say Ron got to go on that hunting trip that he thought he was never gonna be able to do, he came home and went to heaven along with Chris. Rest in peace guys we’ll meet once again someday. We love you….

    Donna and Jim
