William T. Mills

William T. Mills, age 92, of Wilmington, DE passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 29, 2014.
Born in Koblenz, Germany on September 11, 1921, Mr. Mills was the son of the late Harry J. Mills and Elizabeth Jaske Mills. He worked as an independent truck driver for many years and later, drove school buses for the family business, Sutton Bus and Truck Company, Inc.
A devoted family man, he adored spending time with his children and grandchildren. Mr. Mills was married to the love of his life, Ethel, and together they recently celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on February 20, 2014. He relished being outdoors in his yard and tending to his vegetable garden.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, William Mills. He is survived by his beloved wife, Ethel L. Heaps Mills; daughters, Constance M. White of Bear, DE and Kathryn Sutton (Ronald) of Key Colony Beach, FL; 6 grandchildren, Marlena, Brian (Nichole), Cheri (Mike), Dave (Lisa), Krissy (Eric) and Ronnie II (Deana); and 23 great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 7 pm on Thursday evening, April 3, 2014, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where family and friends may visit from 6 pm until 7 pm. Interment will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Seasons Hospice of Delaware, 220 Continental Drive, Ste. 101, Newark, DE 19713.

To the Mills and Sutton Family, we are so very sorry for your loss. Your father was our neighbor and we always consider him our friend. He would come to our house faithfully with all of his wonderful fresh vegetables and sit outside and chat with my husband and I. I always called him our greeen grocer and he would chuckle. He had a wonderful personality and a very kind heart. We also attended St. Paul’s together with he and your mther. I always admired him for how attentive he was to your mother and took such good care of her. Your father was a wonderful man and person. We enjoyed his wisdom and his graceous ways. May he rest in peace and may you find peace with all of your memories.
