Zeola W. Shupe
Ms. Zeola May Webb Shupe, age 89, of New Castle, DE, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 30, 2011, at Christiana Hospital in Newark.
Mrs. Shupe was born in Richmond, VA on April 13, 1921, daughter of the late Reese and Osa (Reedy) Webb. She was a great cook, as well as a talented homemaker throughout her life and delighted in spending time with her beloved family, especially during vacations, holidays, and at other family gatherings and celebrations. She also enjoyed baking and decorating beautiful birthday, holiday, and wedding cakes for family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond S. Shupe (1974), son, Raymond D. Shupe, Sr. (2003), granddaughters, Dawn M. Walden (1989) and Laurie R. Walden (2006), grandson, Raymond D. Shupe, Jr. (2004), and brothers, Clyde Webb, Homer Webb, Hubert Webb, and John Dennis Webb.
She is survived by her children, Gloria J. Poe (Joseph Dean) of Bear, John R. Shupe (Karen) of Wilmington, Constance K. Zebley of Airville, PA, Linda S. Walden (Bill) of Middletown, and Mark S. Shupe of New Castle; 20 grandchildren, Susan, Deanna, Jennie, Joseph, Sheli, Gail, Sharon, Tammy, John Jr., Sandra, Melissa, Charlotte, Rebecca, Dale, Danielle, Warren, Frank, William Sr., Lauren, and Jillian; 39 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren; sisters, Edith Parsons of Oxford, PA, and Thelma Howell of Rising Sun, MD; and brother, Victor Webb of Elkton, MD.
Visitation will be held from 6 pm to 8 pm on Thursday, February 3rd, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle. A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Friday, February 4th, at the funeral home, where a second visitation will begin at 10 am. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle.
