Jayshri N. Patel - Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Homes & Crematory

Jayshri N. Patel

November 2, 1946 - December 22, 2023

Jayshri N. Patel, age 77, of Townsend, DE, passed away on Friday, December 22, 2023.

Born in Baroda, India on November 2, 1946, she was a daughter of the late Shantaben and Sitaram Patel.

Jayshri was a caring and compassionate person who loved spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed needle point, embroidering, and traveling to various holy places. It was also a passion of hers to work in her flower and vegetable gardens. Jayshri enjoyed stitching classes at the MOT Senior Center and found enjoyment trying new recipes and cooking for all her friends and family. Her dog, Rocky, also would enjoy all of her delicious cooking. Her true passion, however, was knitting. She started knitting at a very young age in school to make sweaters for soldiers. Over 60+ years, she became the most talented knitter. She put her heart and soul into making thousands of sweaters, hats, scarves, and bedspreads; she always would create new designs. If she was sitting, she was knitting; that is her legacy that she leaves behind for her family, friends, and strangers.

In addition to her parents, Jayshri was preceded in death by her husband, Natubhai Patel; and her brother, Umakant. She is survived by her siblings, Kaushik Patel (Minal), Shridevi Vandegrift (Frank) and Jyoti Patel (Amrish); sister-in-law, Sarla; nephew, Hershel; nieces, Devansi, Megha (Darcy), Hetal (Dushyant) and Serina; and many nephews, nieces, and friends.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 1:30 pm until 2 pm on Friday, December 29, 2023 at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 275 East Main Street, Middletown, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 2 pm. Interment will be held privately.
