Deborah Lynn “Debbie” Renn

Deborah Lynn “Debbie” Renn, age 74, of Middletown, DE, and formerly of Newark, DE, passed away on Monday, November 3, 2025.

Born in Baltimore, MD on December 16, 1950, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Gloria Jean (Schammel) Kerner. Debbie was a graduate of Kenwood High School in Baltimore. She then married the love of her life, Tony who she shared 36 wonderful years with. Together, they raised a beautiful daughter. Debbie made her career as a dietician for Christiana Care.

Debbie enjoyed visiting the beach and playing cards with her family and friends. She could often be found in her kitchen baking a delicious treat for her loved ones. Debbie always looked forward to baking Christmas cookies every year. She loved spending quality time with her family, especially with her grandsons and great-grandson.

In addition to her parents, Debbie was preceded in death by her husband, DeMonte M. “Tony” Renn. She is survived by her daughter, Renee Workman (Chris); grandchildren, Blake Noonan and Tyler Noonan; sisters, Jessie Scott and Vickie Rychwalski; great-grandson, Josiah Noonan; and several dear friends, nieces, and nephews.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 9:30 am until 11 am on Friday, November 7, 2025, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 11 am. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 North DuPont Highway, New Castle, DE.

I find some comfort in knowing you are no longer struggling, your strength throughout your life was amazing. You have touched so many hearts in your lifetime, you will truly be missed by many.

  • I only knew Debbie for a short amount of time, playing cards with the card ladies. Debbie was fun to be with and had a warm personality. I really enjoyed the time spent with her, it was too short! I will miss you Debbie. Rest in peace. 🙏💔

  • I met Debbie through our mutual friend Lynn Makowski. We played cards multiple times. She was a quiet presence among us. Sweet and caring. I admired her strength with her illness. Not to mention supplying us with sweet treats. Rest easy my friend! You will be missed.

  • I’m so very, very sorry about the loss of Debbie. My heart was sad to hear of her passing. I played cards with her for years as well as going on a few trips with her and a few others in our card group. She was a wonderful person! I didn’t see her much over the last few years as we retired and moved to Arkansas. But I’ll always remember her as a Debbie with her big heart- and also when she was in her kitchen! Rest in peace Debbie! Renee and family, I pray that the grace of our God will give you peace and comfort that surpasses all understanding at this heartfelt time!
