Adele M. Johnston, age 68, of Townsend, DE passed away on Saturday, January 20, 2018.

A native Delawarean, she was born on September 20, 1949, a daughter of the late Geza and Mildred Dorothy (Meadows) Nemes. Adele made her career as an accountant for Homebuilders Association in Dover, retiring in 2010.

In her leisure time, she enjoyed playing bingo and attending quarter auctions. Above all else, Adele loved spending time with her family, whom she loved dearly.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Donald Johnston, Sr.; grandsons, Alexander R. and Brice D. Johnston; and sister, Dorothy Wood. She is survived by her son, Larry D. Johnston, Jr. (Amanda) of Townsend; siblings, Julie Taylor of Wilmington, Geza E. Nemes of Townsend and Elane Boulden of New Castle; and grandchildren, Daniel E., Coleman T., and Emily A. Johnston.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 until 11 am on Friday morning, January 26, 2018, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Highway, New Castle, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 11 am. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the ALS Association, Attention: Gift Processing Center, P.O. Box 37022, Boone, IA 50037-0022.
