Alfred E. “Alfie” McWilliams, Jr., age 43, of New Castle, DE, passed away on Monday, September 7, 2020.

Born in Salem, NJ on April 15, 1977, he was a son of Catherine M. (Marker) and the late Alfred E. McWilliams, Sr. An avid outdoorsman, Alfie loved to go fishing, boating and tending to his vegetable garden, especially the cucumbers and pickles. In his spare time, he enjoyed riding and maintaining for his four-wheeler. Alfie could often be found cheering on his beloved Baltimore Ravens. He was an amazing handyman who could fix anything. Alfie will always be remembered for his humor and laughter.

In addition to his father, Alfie was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Donald Viall, Jr.; and brother-in-law, Brandon Viall. He is survived by his loving wife, Heather M. (Viall) McWilliams; children, Tessa McWilliams, Kristian McWilliams, Makayla McWilliams and Natalie McWilliams; siblings, Kathy McWilliams, Susan Curriden (Dennis) and A.J. McWilliams (Deborah); mother-in-law, Bonnie Tharby (John); many nieces and nephews; and his dog and cat, B-more and Bobcat.

 Services and burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family.

  • Susan and Kathy, I am so sorry for your loss. I remember Alfie from middle school as being one to always make you smile. My thoughts and prayers and hugs are with you all at this difficult time. Love to all.

The first time he had me cracking up, the second time was when Mike was in the hospital and you and Alfie showed and said we are here, whatever you need coffee, food, a ride, a shoulder and I remember thinking wow Heather and Alfie are such wonderful people.   • My deepest condolences to you and your family. My twin sister and I had met Alfie through my cousins Richard “bread” & Chris “c-lo” Kohrherr and few of thier friends while chilling in Salem. He was one of the nicest & funniest down to earth person that we could be ourselves and feel comfortable around him. We hunged out so many times and made memories that would last a lifetime. About 15 years ago one night after work I went into THE TURNPIKE BAR and I
    hear someone calling my name. This handsome young man walking up to me trying to give me a hug.
    He said you don’t remember me. No I said. It’s Alfie. Omg you grew up and we hugged. He always made me feel accepted. I have mad love and respect for him. Alfie my friend until we party again save me the best seat in the house. RIP
