Alice M. (Broomell) Crawford, age 83, of Margate, FL, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 5, 2019.

She was born in Wilmington, DE on March 7, 1935 to loving parents George and Emma Broomell.

Alice Crawford worked at First Union, which was located in Coral Gables, Florida for 20 years. Most of her responsibilities there was to train all incoming new employees. While performing this task, Alice met & trained Gloria Hamel who would later become one of her very best friends. After many years of dedicated service to First Union she retired in the year of 2000.

She is predeceased by her husband of 31 years, John J. Crawford, Jr. She leaves to cherish her memory 4 children, Debbie States (Doug), Barbara Ann Stewart, James John Crawford, John James Crawford III; 4 brothers; 12 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and a host of other sorrowing relatives and friends.

A visitation for family and friends will he held from 10 am until 11 am on Monday, February 25, 2019, at Gracelawn Memorial Park Chapel, 2220 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 11 am. Interment will follow in the adjoining memorial park.

  • I knew her very well also know the family very well. She was a very nice & sweet who always treated me good when ever I visited her House to hang out with John & Jimmy. She was a Great lady who I was glad to have gotten to know over the years. My thoughts & prayers go out to The Family during this difficult time

  • To my wonderful & precious mom, I love and miss you so much. You are surrounded by your angels. You taught me a lot about what life is all about and treasuring the love we shared as a family. Debbie, John, Jim and I had a great childhood. I still miss Dad after all these years, however you are with him now. I have many wonderful memories and fun times on our vacations & spending quality time together. I am happy we made our trip to Jekyll Island. I love you so much and will forever.
