Arthur T. Miller, Jr.
Arthur T. Miller, Jr., age 98, of Newark, DE, passed away peacefully, at his residence on Sunday, June 11, 2023.
Born and raised in Oaklyn, NJ, Art was the son of the late Arthur T. and Elizabeth (Aron) Miller, Sr. He attended Collingswood High School and was active in the choir as a tenor. Art joined the U.S. Navy at 17 years old, following high school, and served from August 1942 until November 1945 on the U.S.S. Baltimore heavy cruiser as a Signalman Third Class. His career as a technical sales and service technician for MeadWestvaco was spent traveling worldwide. With his wife of 66 years, they enjoyed extensive travel including over twenty cruise vacations before and during a long active retirement. Art was an avid golfer, enjoyed his side trips to the casino and was a lifelong Philadelphia Eagles fan.
In addition to his parents, Art was preceded in death by his loving wife of 66 years, Janice (Turpin) Miller; one brother; three sisters; one half-brother; two half-sisters; and son-in-law, Ed Peterman. He is survived by his daughters, Janice Walker (Stan), Paula Jekielek (Stephen), Tracy Peterman, and Dana Miller; grandchildren; and many other loving family and friends.
All services and interment will be held privately at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery.

Dad – You made it to 98! I’m remembering our last trip taking you to the Casino and playing our dice game at home where you beat me most of the time! Glad we were able to honor your Navy service with you before you drifted away. I imagine you in heaven dancing with Mom and playing golf with Ed. Be at Peace. Love, Tracy
