Barbara Ann Brown
Mrs. Barbara Ann Brown, age 73, of Wilmington, DE, died quietly on Saturday, September 18, 2010, at her home surrounded by family.
Born in Wilmington on January 9, 1937, Barbara was the daughter of the late James Burns and Gertrude Haley Burns. She was a graduate of Wilmington High School and worked for the State and Municipal Government prior to her marriage to Neville Lynn (Bud) Brown of Birmingham, AL. After her marriage, she and her husband relocated to Birmingham where they raised their children. She was a member of the Childrens Theatre, had a successful modeling career, and ran a small business. After the death of her husband, she returned to Delaware and made her career in the hospitality division of Delaware Park, where she retired after 25 years.
She is survived by her children, Deborah Brown Crescenzo (Craig Townsend), Kevin Brown (Valerie), and Michael Brown (Laurie); brother, James Burns (Mary); sisters, Kathleen Gland (Robert) and Jane Calder; four grandchildren, Kellie, Angie, Paulie, and Lilly; one great granddaughter, Hailey; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 12 noon on Friday, September 24, 2010, at Holy Angels R.C. Church, 82 Possum Park Road, Newark, where visitation will begin at 10 am. Entombment will follow in All Saints Cemetery, 6001 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington.
