Barbara Diane Hubbard, age 61, of Delaware City, DE, passed away on Monday, December 4, 2023.

Born in Wilmington, DE on June 15, 1962, she was the daughter of James Graulich, Sandra (Carrow) Ciliberto and James Ciliberto. Barbara was a graduate of Glasgow High School and later, Delaware Technical and Community College where she earned her Bachelor’s degree. She made her career in nursing and spent the last several years with AccentCare Hospice.

Barbara enjoyed the comfort of her home, crocheting, watching HGTV in her pajamas and fuzzy socks, and spending time with her beloved dog, Kaia. She especially cherished time spent with her children and grandchildren. Barbara loved living in Delaware City and enjoyed taking her grandchildren down to the water to watch the boats go by followed by a trip to the ice cream parlor.

Barbara was preceded in death by her siblings, James J. Ciliberto and Cynthia E. Graulich. She is survived by her children, Richard Novello, Jr., Jaime Novello (Damian), Alyssa Novello (Edward), and Seth Hubbard (Marissa); grandchildren, Abigail, Beckham, Aria, and Emery; father, James Graulich; mother, Sandra Ciliberto; stepfather, James Ciliberto; and siblings, Laurie Dugan (Larry) and Leanne Maloy.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 5 pm until 6 pm on Friday, December 15, 2023, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 214 Clinton Street, Delaware City, DE, where a memorial service will begin at 6 pm. Inurnment will be held privately.

  • During the past few years, I had the opportunity to work with Barbara at Accent Care Hospice. She was an asset to the program. She took excellent care of the patients. Our unit at Wilmington Hospital will miss her warmth and dedication to the patients. Matthew 5:4 “Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.” and Psalm 34:18
