Barbara S. “Bobby” Kelly

Barbara S. “Bobby” Kelly, age 72, of Newark, DE, passed away at Christiana Hospital in the Season’s Hospice Unit on Saturday, August 20, 2022.

Born in Wilmington, DE on August 10, 1950, she was a daughter of the late Thomas W. and Thelma D. Sartin.

Barbara enjoyed being a time-out/disciplinary teacher for Colonial School District in the early 2000’s. She also enjoyed babysitting all her grandkids and watching them grow.

Barbara adored spending quality time with her family and her dog, Pokey. She loved her family with all of her heart. Barbara was a devoted mom, mom-mom, sister and aunt.

Barbara is survived by her children, Ronald L. Kelly, Jr., and Melanie K. Thorp (F. Ray Thorp, Jr.); grandchildren, Dalton Kelly, Tanner Kelly, R. Dylan Pennypacker, Brandon Petroulis, Kassidy Thorp, and Savannah Kelly; 6 great-grandchildren, Mason, Noah, Charleigh, Kori, Kaylani, and Thomas; sister, Linda Graham (Ray); nephew, Glen Williams (Cricket); and niece, Becky Johnson (Al).

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 11 am until 12 pm on Sunday, August 28, 2022, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 275 East Main Street, Middletown, DE, where funeral service will begin at 12 pm. Interment will follow in Hickory Grove Cemetery, Port Penn Road, Port Penn, DE. Barbara’s wishes were casual dress.
