Betty P. Laws

Betty P. Laws of Bear, DE, passed away on Friday, August 23, 2019.

Born in Wilmington, DE, she was the daughter of the late John E. and Evelyn M. (Temple) Peacock. Betty worked as a Marketing Assistant at DuPont for more than 40 years. She enjoyed spending time outside gardening plants, traveling and collecting depression glass. Betty had a knack for crocheting and made many beautiful afghans. She loved to cook but above all, she loved spending time with her family

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her daughter, Patricia Johnson. She is survived by her husband, Raymond Laws, Jr.; son, Angelo Yacabell, Jr. (Debbie); step-daughters, Noel Marshall (Mike), Nikki Barnett and Ashley Lucas (Eddie); and grandchildren, Nicholas Yacabell (Heather), Samantha Christie (Cullen), Lauren Spain (David), Christine Fauver, Katie Johnson, Tyler and Hailey Marshall, Donald and Kerri Barnett, and Edwin and Devon Lucas.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 am until 11 am on Thursday, August 29, 2019, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 275 East Main Street, Middletown, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 11 am. Interment will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Betty’s memory to Faithful Friends, 12 Germay Drive, Wilmington, DE 19804.

  • I’m so very sorry for your loss. We had a lot of good times growing up and getting together with Betty, Patty, and Angie. My Mom (Ann) always always enjoyed spending time with Betty. I wish I could have gotten them together more in these later years.
