March 14, 1933 - February 3, 2018

Callie Lee Blevins, age 84, of New Castle, DE, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 3, 2018.

Born in Bluefield, West Virginia on March 14, 1933, she was a daughter of the late Rufus and Ethel Mae (Beavers) Cole.  Callie dedicated her life to her family as a caring homemaker.

Callie loved to read, especially the Bible and is a former member of the First Baptist Church of Delaware in New Castle.  Callie also enjoyed flower gardening.  She will be remembered as a tough and independent woman.  In her youth she would carry buckets of water to help her family.  Above all, she was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother.

In addition to her parents, Callie is preceded in death by her husband, William H. Blevins, Jr; children, Jack Kenny Blevins, William H. Blevins, III, Curtis Blevins and Patricia I. Street; brothers, Gene Cole, Leonard Cole and Bobby Cole; and sister, Nancy Cookie McCormick.  She is survived by her children, Bonnie Sue Blevins (Albert) of New Castle and Lisa Marie Minuti (Joey) of Wilmington; brother, Charles Cole of North Carolina; 9 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren.

A visitation for family and friends will be from 10 am until 11 am on Friday, February 9, 2018 at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 11 am.  Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the First Baptist Church of Delaware, 901 East Basin Road, New Castle, DE, 19720.
