Charles E. “Chuck” Peterson III

Charles E. “Chuck” Peterson III, age 73, of Middletown, DE, passed away on Monday, October 14, 2019.

Born in Abington, PA on August 23, 1946, he was a son of the late Charles E. and Mahala B. Peterson, Jr.  Chuck graduated from Upper Dublin High School in Upper Dublin, PA in 1964.  He continued his education and received his BA in economics from Lafayette College in 1969.  Chuck worked for his family business, Bryner Chevrolet, retiring after many years as President and co-owner. 

Throughout his career, he received the Time Quality Dealer of the Year award, chaired the Philly Auto Show, was a realtor for Monihan Realty, and was the M.O.T. Senior Center Transportation Coordinator.  A friend to the community, Chuck was a member of many other civic associations.  In his spare time, he loved to read, fish and play cards.  Chuck’s fondest memories were time spent with his family, especially his grandkids.

He is survived by his loving wife, Linda Peterson; son, Charles “Erik” Peterson IV (Melissa); daughter, Kerry L. Brooks (Jason); siblings, Suzanne Black (Gregg), Dianne Peterson and David Peterson (Elka); and grandchildren, Mei Rose Peterson and Everett Hall Brooks.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 am until 12 noon on Monday, October 21, 2019, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 275 East Main Street, Middletown, DE, where a memorial service will begin at 12 noon.  Interment will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Chuck’s memory to Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, 26 Broadway, 14th Floor, New York, NY 10004 or www2.jdrf.org.
