Charlotte M. Crombie
Mrs. Charlotte M. Crombie, age 69, of New Castle, DE, died on Thursday, September 30, 2010, at her home.
Born in Pottsville, PA, on August 14, 1941, Mrs. Crombie was a daughter of the late Paul Motto and Betty L. Kiefer Motto. She enjoyed a diverse career, working for 15 years as the service office administrator for Price Automotive Group in New Castle. She also loved caring for children and operated a daycare in her home for many years.
Involved in her community throughout her life, Mrs. Crombie volunteered with many organizations and was active with Girl Scouts of America, the Civil Air Patrol, and the Cranston Heights Fire Company Auxiliary. She was a longtime parishioner of St. Hedwigs R.C. Church.
She was preceded in death by her second husband, Leon North. She is survived by her husband, Charles H. Crombie; daughters, Denise A. Rishel (Frank) of New Castle, Norma J. Rash of Newark, and Kristine S. Smalley (Robert) of Middletown; brothers, William Motto (Kay) of Roswell, NM, and Michael Motto (Yvonne) of Winter Garden, FL; sisters, Joan Marvel (William) of Middletown, Evelyn Motto of Wilmington, Shirley Timmons of New Castle, and Norma Zion (Richard) of Minneola, FL; grandchildren, Leon, Sarah, Frank, Richard, Sean, Alexis, Robert, and Kaylee; and great granddaughter, Josephine.
Visitation will be held from 9:30 am to 11 am on Monday, October 4, 2010, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:30 am at Our Lady of Fatima R.C. Church, 801 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle. Interment will be in All Saints Cemetery, 6001 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington.
