Charlotte R. Davis, age 88, of New Castle, DE, passed away on Tuesday, January 3, 2012.
Charlotte was born in New Castle on February 25, 1923, daughter of the late Pate and Julia Davis. She was a talented homemaker, as well as a gifted seamstress and an expert shopper.
A devout Catholic throughout her life, Charlotte was member of Holy Spirit parish and a former member of St. Peter the Apostle parish.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, George Davis, and her sister, Catherine Medora. She is survived by her daughter, Eileen D. Minshal (George); three grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews, including Phillip Davis, Rosemary Matarese, and Michael Davis, for whom she lovingly served as legal guardian.
Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 am on Friday, January 6, 2012, at Holy Spirit R.C. Church, 12 Winder Road, Garfield Park, New Castle, 19720, where visitation will begin at 10 am. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle.
