Cheryl Ann Popkey, age 65, of Newark, DE, passed away on Monday, February 4, 2019.
Born in Niagara Falls, NY, on January 9, 1954, she was a daughter of the Herbert R. and the late Lois J. (Davies) Popkey. Cheryl worked for MBNA and retired after several years of service.
A dedicated football fan, you would always find Cheryl cheering on her beloved Washington Redskins. She enjoyed playing pool and knitting. Cheryl will be remembered for her loving spirit, strong will and doing things her way.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her sister, Teri Popkey. Cheryl is survived by her son, Emmett Popkey; sisters, Lori (Popkey) Squier and Beverly (Popkey) Smith; brother, Gary Popkey; best friend and caregiver, Beverly McCool; two nieces; and four nephews.
All services will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Cheryl’s memory to Heartland Hospice House, 5661 Ochletree Lane, Wilmington, DE 19808.
