Constance Janice Sturgeon
August 8, 1935 - March 17, 2019
Constance Janice Sturgeon, age 83, of Middletown, DE, and formerly of Delaware City, DE, passed away on Sunday, March 17, 2019.
Born in Wilmington, DE on August 8, 1935, she was a daughter of the late James R. and Emma A. (Miller) Sturgeon. Constance worked on the assembly line for Chrysler and retired after 27 years of service.
A lover of the outdoors, she enjoyed working in the yard and flower gardening. In her spare time she loved to travel, but most importantly spend time with her grandchildren. Constance always looked forward to Sundays when she would play cards with her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Harry Sturgeon, James Sturgeon and Richard Sturgeon; sister, Emma Pottios; and niece, Cindy Sturgeon. Constance is survived by her daughter, Janice D. Vaughn (Hiram); brothers, Bruce Sturgeon and Stephen Sturgeon; sisters, Billie Sturgeon and Camilla Craig; granddaughter, Kate Lewis (Brian); grandsons, Thomas Vaughn and Hiram “Bo” Vaughn (Dee Dee); and six great grandchildren.
All services will be held privately.
