Our family lost our dear mother on Easter Sunday. Darlene Mae Haggerty Leach, age 82, of Newark, DE, passed away peacefully on March 31, 2013, with her family at her side.
Darlene was a kind and loving person who cared for her children and grandchildren above all else. In life, she was known for a doing a million little, thoughtful things for her family. She loved company, television, and football. Darlene was a great listener and counselor to her family and her many friends. Truly a special person has departed from us and will be great missed.
She is survived by her daughter, Denise Miller of Newark, DE, and her sons, Ted (Nicole) of Atlanta, GA, and Bayard (Maria) of Cochranville, PA. She was also blessed with seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Russell Haggerty, Sr. and Evelyn Layman Haggerty, and her brother, William Russell Haggerty, Jr.
We extend a special remembrance for our beloved sister Denise, who lovingly cared for our mother for over twenty years. We thank you and can never repay you for your selfless sacrifice.
Family and friends are welcome to join us for a funeral service at 11 am on Wednesday, April 3, 2013, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 West Park Place, Newark, DE, where visitation will begin at 10 am. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE.
