David A. Albright, Jr., age 29, of New Castle, DE, known fondly by family and friends as DJ, died tragically on Thursday, December 16, 2010.

A native Delawarean, DJ was born in New Castle on January 9, 1981. He was a 1999 graduate of William Penn High School and was beginning his career as an electrician apprentice. He was a longtime member of Asbury United Methodist Church, where he had been very active in his youth.

DJ was very involved in music throughout his life. He also enjoyed cheering for his favorite team, the Eagles.

He is survived by his beloved parents, David A. Albright, Sr. and Donna S. Miller Albright of New Castle; brother, Christopher J. Albright of New Castle; sister, Amanda N. Albright of New Castle; maternal grandmother, Martha J. Miller of New Castle; paternal grandparents, Anna J. and Claude Hodges of Clayton; aunts, Elizabeth I. Doherty of New Castle, Donna S. Forrest (William) of Wilmington, and Mary K. Cox of Hartly; cousins, Megan Doherty, Ryan Cox, and Justin Cox; and many close friends.

A funeral service will be held at 1 pm on Tuesday, December 21, 2010, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, where visitation will begin at 11 am. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle.
