David G. O’Neill

David G. O’Neill, age 71, of Landenberg, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 22, 2018, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Wilmington on August 16, 1946, he was the son of the late Thomas and Helen (Carey) O’Neill. David was a well respected construction superintendent who was devoted to his profession.
A one of a kind man, David loved his family with his whole heart and had a wonderful sense of humor. He enjoyed the simple things in life, especially the outdoors and nature. In particular, he enjoyed hunting and fishing with his son, son-in-law and grandchildren. Above all, he was a loyal family man and enjoyed being surrounded by his loved ones.
In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his daughters, Deanna Farling and Natalie O’Neill. He is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Margaret (Cirrigione) O’Neill; son, Daniel O’Neill (Chrissy); daughter, Nicole Regester (Joey); sister, Karen Rickner (Charlie); grandchildren, Ashleigh, Morgan, Dalton, Madison, Brianna, Joey, Jr. and Samantha; and step-grandchildren, Steven and Ridge.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 4 pm until 6 pm on Sunday, January 28, 2018 at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 6 pm. Interment will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Helen F. Graham Cancer Center, 4701 Ogletown Stanton Rd, Newark, DE 19713.
