David Michael “Dave” Cox

David Michael “Dave” Cox, age 63, of Smyrna, DE, passed away on Friday, September 25, 2020.
Born in Wilmington on November 9, 1956, he was a son of the late Donald H. and Margaret (Cieplowski) Cox. Dave graduated from Claymont High School in 1975 and made his career as a mechanic with Yale, Industrial, Eastern and Toyota Lift Northeast from 2004 until 2019. In his leisure time, Dave enjoyed camping and cruising.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, John Howard Cox and canine companion, Maggie. Dave is survived by his daughter, Crystal Jewell; siblings, Donald Cox, Donna Broomall, Diana Ferrara, Darlene Cox, Danial Cox, Mary Ann Schwatka, Charles Cox and Deborah Cox-Kiely; and grandson, Conner Ashton.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 1 pm until 3 pm on Friday, October 2, 2020, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 275 East Main Street, Middletown, DE. Facemasks will be required for all in attendance. Services and interment will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dave’s name to Faithful Friends, 12 Germay Drive, Wilmington, Delaware 19804.

What a great guy Dave was. I havent seen him for sometime, but his laugh was always infectious. When I first got to know him, we had the pleasure of dancing the “chicken dance” at Charlie and Tammy’s wedding. Lol. He was just fun to be around. He will be deeply missed by so many.
