Mr. David “Scott” Welsh, age 46, of New Castle, DE, passed away on Monday, December 26, 2011, at home with his wife by his side.
Dave was a native Delawarean, born in Wilmington on December 13, 1965. A professional truck driver, he was employed with the former William Young Lumber Company in New Castle for 23 years. He later accepted a position with Estes Express in Elkton, MD, where he worked for the past year.
An avid sports fan throughout his life, Dave looked forward to cheering each season for his favorite football teams, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and the University of Delaware Blue Hens. He was also a fan of NASCAR racing.
A gifted athlete from his youth, Dave was a longtime member of both the Terrace Athletic Club (T.A.C.) in New Castle and the Stapler Athletic Association in Wilmington. He also greatly enjoyed listening to country music.
He is survived by his beloved wife and best friend, Lori A. Hopkins Welsh; sons, J.D., Rob, and Wayne; stepchildren, Michael, Loriann, and Mariah; granddaughter, Layla; father, David J. Welsh (Diane Stockman) of Wilmington; mother, Donna Sue Linton Welsh of LeCanto, FL; sister, Pamela George (David) of Middletown; and pet dogs, Bella and Mollie.
A funeral service will be held at 5 pm on Friday, December 30, 2011, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, where visitation will begin at 3 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to assist the family with funeral expenses. Donations may be made payable to “Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Homes.”

I was just wondering if there was a record of who came to the service I was a child then but I’m a adult now I would just wanted thank all the people that cared about my father that I’ve never had a chance to actually talk too if u can just let me know if not its OK thanks
