Dolores M. O’Neal

Dolores M. O’Neal, age 89, of New Castle, DE, passed away on Wednesday, December 30, 2020, surrounded by her loving and devoted family.

She was born in Wilmington, DE on June 27, 1931, and was the daughter of the late Herbert and Pearl (Scullion) Stant. Dolores was dedicated to creating a warm and loving home for her family. She was a life member of the Holloway Terrace Volunteer Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary and Naomi Chapter No. 20 OES. Dolores enjoyed bowling in her free time, and loved and cherished her family more than anything.

In addition to her parents, Dolores is preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Charles N.  O’Neal, and siblings, Herbert Stant, Margaret Weaver, and June Johnson. She is survived by her children, Karen L. Barlow (Ed) of New Castle, Beverly J. Dorrin (Frank) of Chesapeake City, MD, Patricia J. Riccio (Anthony) of New Castle, Charles W. O’Neal II (Mary) of Millsboro, Michael J. O’Neal of Rock, MI, and Janice M. Smith (Paul) of New Castle; sister-in-law, Patricia DeBonaventura (Guy) of Newark; 23 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.

All services will be held privately due to COVID Pandemic.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dolores’ memory to the Holloway Terrace Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, P.O. Box 684, New Castle, DE 19720.
