Donna M. Brooks, age 76, of Lewes, DE, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Monday, September 26, 2022.

Born in Pittsburgh, PA on March 30, 1946, she was a daughter of the late Albert and Sarah (Osmanski) Weismiller. Donna made her career as the cafeteria manager for the Colonial School District, retiring after 15 years.

Donna was a dedicated member of the Red Hats Society with whom she was active in her community, spending time at the Lewes Senior Center and especially playing Bingo. She enjoyed many hobbies in life including, cooking, baking and hand quilting. Most of all, spending time with her family is what she enjoyed most.

In addition to her parents, Donna was preceded in death by her brothers, Albert Weismiller, and Roy Weismiller. She is survived by her beloved husband of 49 years, Russell G. Brooks, Sr.; loving children, Carrie J. Dobbs (Joe) of Rocky Face, GA; and Russell G. Brooks, Jr. (Sherri) of Newark; sister, Marlane Radzius of Middletown; and grandchildren, David, Grace, Emilee, and Russell “Tripp” III.

The family extends their sincere gratitude to the caring staff at Delaware Hospice Center and Dr. Khatri of the Helen Graham Center.

A celebration of life for family and friends will be held at 12 pm on Wednesday, October 5, 2022, at the Minquadale Fire Company Hall, 129 East Hazeldell Avenue, New Castle, DE, with a reception to follow. All attending are encouraged to dress casually.
