Dorothy Faye (Moore) Shaw

February 10, 1947 - April 25, 2022

Dorothy Faye (Moore) Shaw, age 75, passed away on Monday, April 25, 2022.

Born in Wilmington, DE, she was a daughter of the late Albert N. and Nellie L. (Grant) Moore. Dorothy retired as a pharmacy technician from Governor Bacon Health Center in 1991 after many years of dedicated service.

Dorothy was an avid reader and enjoyed playing word search games. In her leisure time, she liked to knit and crochet, winning multiple ribbons at the Delaware State Fair through the years. She was well known for her good cooking as well as her African violet and holiday nut cracker collections. Active in her community, she was a life member of the Delaware City Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary and enjoyed making sub sandwiches and leading dinners at events with her friends. Above all, she dedicated her life to the three men in her life: her father, her husband, and her son.

In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her brother, Skippy Moore; nephew Francis McNally, and close cousin Walter Moore. She is survived by her beloved husband of 56 years, William (Kenny) K. Shaw, Sr.; loving son, William K. Shaw, Jr.; siblings, Francis McNally, and Albert W. Grant.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 am until 11 am on Thursday, May 5, 2022, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 214 Clinton Street, Delaware City, DE. A graveside service will follow in, New St. Paul’s Cemetery, Cox Neck Road, Delaware City, DE.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Dorothy’s memory may be made to the Delaware City Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, 815 5th Street, P.O. Box 251, Delaware City, DE 19706.
