Elaine J. Hoffman, age 88, of Oxford, PA, and formerly of Newark, DE, passed away on Wednesday, November 27, 2024.

Born in Wilmington, DE on July 6, 1936, she was a daughter of the late Allen and Edna May (Broadbent) Stumpf. Elaine worked in accounts receivable for many different companies.

Elaine loved art and enjoyed spending her free time painting or doing arts and crafts. In her younger years, she loved teaching dance classes. Elaine was also an avid historian. Most of all, she was passionate about her faith and could often be found reading the Bible. Elaine loved her husband, family and Jesus Christ.

In addition to her parents, Elaine was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene C. Hoffman; daughter, Wendy Hoffman; and siblings, Edna May Dennis, Albert Stumpf, and Walter Stumpf. She is survived by her children, Kimberly Swarthout (David), Jeanne Burke, and Eugene C. Hoffman II (Tiffany); 5 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 am until 11 am on Thursday, December 5, 2024, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 11 am. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 North DuPont Highway, New Castle, DE.
