Eleanor “Ellie” Nasatka

Eleanor “Ellie” Nasatka, age 100, of New Castle, DE, passed away on Sunday, May 30, 2021.
Born in Trevorton, PA, on April 15, 1921, she was a daughter of the late Joseph E. and Mary (Kashuba) Longo. Eleanor was a proud homemaker. A devout Catholic, she was a member of Holy Spirit Parish and Our Lady’s Blue Army. Eleanor a devoted mother and grandmother, was dedicated to performing charitable works her entire life, crocheting and donating countless afghans and baby blankets.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Christiana Hospital as well as Seasons Hospice for their excellent care.
In addition to her parents, Eleanor was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Edward S. Nasatka; son-in-law, Joseph Murphy; brother, John Longo; and sister, Janice Gutowski. She is survived by her daughters, Marian Schumann (Richard) of Wilmington and Joan Murphy of Bear; sister, Bernadette Tressler (George) of Wilmington; grandchildren, Carol Ann Schumann, Deanna Bilecki, Brian Murphy, Sr. (Kim), Kevin Murphy, Sr. (Erin), and Lori Murphy; great grandchildren, Michael Murphy, Nicholas Bilecki, Alexis Murphy, Brian Murphy, Jr., Kevin Murphy, Jr., Jack Huhn, Nathan Thomas, and Ryan Thomas; nieces, Marybeth Payne and Julia Payne; sisters-in-law, Esther Monfette and Lorraine Dallenbach; brother-in-law, Ralph Nasatka and many more nieces and nephews.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 am until 11 am on Monday, June 7, 2021, at Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Church, 12 Winder Road, New Castle, DE 19720, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 am. Face coverings will be required for all those in attendance not immunized with the COVID-19 vaccine per the CDC and Governor of Delaware. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery, 6001 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE 19808.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to Holy Spirit R.C. Church, at the address listed above.

While I didn’t know Eleanor personally, I know family members who loved her very much and will miss her. She was the ‘constant’ in their lives and she adored her children and grandchildren. I know she will be missed very much. I send my sympathy and condolences to her loved ones.

I am so glad I had the honor of knowing Ellie, she was a very nice Lady, I had met her a few times at weddings and graduations, etc.
she will be missed, but her memories will live on. The pictures they posted of her and her family were so nice.
